Q: My client PCs doesn't boot even though the DDS servers are up and running.
|
|
A: Please follow the following steps:-
- Please check whether the DDS USB dongle is inserted / plug-in to the server
- Make sure your network switcher is up and running
- Please check the RJ-45 cable is properly plug-in into the RJ-45 port on the server and client pc's
|
|
Q: Everything is fine, but the client PCs is still not booting from DDS.
|
|
A: Please make sure the server is properly set-up before trying to boot client PCs (e.g: Mount XP Disk, Server IP address / Client, DDS Time Usage Remaining and etc).
Other than that, please be sure that the server network card is functioning properly. Check the icons in "Boot Manager", black icons means the server/client PC is not connected/open. If the problem still persist, please call (Michaelsoft DDS) for further assistance.

Q: One of my DDS Server HDD is faulty, what can I do?
|
|
A: Please follow these steps:-
- Check which HDD drive is faulty. (DDS Server usually consist of 4 to 6 HDDs. Some server set-up might vary)
- After confirming which HDD is faulty, replace the HDD (Prefer the same model and chipset controller for the HDD)
- If DDS Disk is faulty, then replace, re-install the Michaelsoft DDS Server software and re-configure the settings.
- If XP Disk is faulty, then replace, set the XP Disk Raid and Sync Whole Disk from Server 1 or 2 (Vice Versa)

Q: I just install a software and it contain virus malwares inside! What should I do?
|
|
A: No need to worry, with Recovery Upon Reboot (RUR) feature, a simple re-start of the client pc will load back the setting before. (Note: It will not take effect if your client is not using Superworkstation mode to install program)
|

Q: If I'm using Superworkstation mode to install a program and it got infected with virus. What should I do?
|
|
A: You can cancel the Superworkstation mode. The setting you did just now won't take effect since you cancel the Superworkstation mode and it will revert back to the previous Restore Point. (Users are strongly advice to scan the files or installers for viruses before installing to anything inside the Superworkstation PC)

Q: If the restore point I created just now contains virus? What should i do?
|
|
A: Do not worry. You can restore to the other previous Restore Point. Michaelsoft DDS not only let user save 1 but up until 8 restore points.

Q: What if I lost my Michaelsoft DDS installer CD? Can I get another copy from you?
|
|
A: Yes you can. (Terms and Conditions applied)
|
|
Q: My server keeps restarting itself? What is the cause' of it?
|
|
A: You are advised to do a maintenance service to the server. (E.G: Clean Dust, Clean and Reapplying thermal compound between processor and heatsink, Replace OLD PSU (PSU aging will caused unstable system). If the problem still persists, please call Michaelsoft DDS for further assistance.

Q: My entire client PC's are running the same specifications. Some of them are running with CAT5e and some are CAT6. But I did notice that those client PCs that running with CAT6 boot process are similar to CAT5e client PCs. Why is that?
|
|
A: If you are using 100/Mb switches instead of 1000/Mb switches, the CAT6 cables can't perform itself to the fullest since it is bottleneck by the 100/MB switcher.
|

Q: I'm opening a new Cyber Cafe / Office / Computer Lab. What is your suggestion and recommendation on the network and your server?
|
|
A: We recommend using Gigabit switches and CAT6 cables as our server runs better with Gigabit environment.
|
|
Q: I want to use Michaelsoft DDS server, but I'm worried because my Cyber Cafe / Office / Computer Lab is running with more than 4 different specifications of PCs.
|
|
A: Need not to worry. Michaelsoft DDS is proud to tell you that our server features DDS Multi-Driver (DMD) which allows users to set the boot profile not 1 but up until 22 profile for different specification client PCs.

Q: I'm having trouble with the server and client pc's and I don't know how to fix the problem since my Technician is not here. Can I call for support from Michaelsoft DDS to troubleshoot the problem?

Q: I just bought some new game titles and after finish installing, the game won't run and pops up an error saying "Please Insert CD/DVD" and I did insert the game disc inside my optical drive.
|

A: If installed properly, you won't be seeing these errors. Or you might be a victim of counterfeit product. (Please note that Michaelsoft DDS is not responsible for any Game Company Licensing Issues as Michaelsoft DDS is only providing a Diskless Solution)

Q: I have one question; let's say I want different kind of specification for my server. Is it possible to use the server specification I want instead of Michaelsoft DDS reference specifications?
|
|
A: Certainly, but bear in mind that not all custom built server that the user assemble are suitable for Michaelsoft DDS server operation. It is advisable for the user to call us for further compatible server specifications variation.

Q: Your specification recommends me to use Seagate 500GB ES (Enterprise Storage), can I use other brand and other capacity of the HDD?
|
|
A: Yes you can, there are few company that produce HDD. For example: Maxtor, Western Digital, Samsung, Hitachi and etc. For capacity, it solely depends on user's decision.
|

Q: I just set-up the server and I'm having trouble with my client PCs IP addresses. Most of them are in conflict with each other. How can I solve this?
|
|
A: Please disable DHCP client in your router settings (if user uses one). If not, you can always edit your client PCs' IP addresses in DDS server's "Boot Manager" setting.
|
|
Q: I have a Cyber Cafe / Library / Computer Lab that has data with the size of more than 1TB = 1000GB (Gigabyte). Your recommended server specification HDD size is not enough for me. Can I add more HDDs inside?
|
|
A: Certainly, you may add extra HDDs and it shouldn't be any trouble. (Please take note that most of the motherboards only support a maximum 6 SATA ports at the moment.)
|
|
